News: As I Lay Dying Returns with Classic Lineup
The famed metalcore band As I Lay Dying have returned from the grave (no pun intended). While the controversy rises with every passing day that news of the band's return surfaces, this is going to not focus too much on the controversy itself. While I myself, 100% despise what happened, I believe there is enough hate that's been passed around, and as a Christian, I am called to forgive and to act as Christ would have. The band began back in 2001 with only Tim Lambesis (Vocals) and Jordan Mancino (Drums). The two however, did not pursue the project full-time, as they were both a part of Facedown Records-signed hardcore band, Point of Recognition. When the band finally took off, they departed from PoR and pursued the band full-time. Over the next 6 years, the band went through constant member changes, finally settling with Lambesis, Mancino, Phil Sgrosso (Guitars), Nick Hipa (Guitars) and Josh Gilbert (Bass/Vocals).
The band remained this constant lineup between 2007 to 2014, when the band was put on hiatus for obvious reasons. As of now, 2018, the five members of the "classic lineup" have reunited and recorded new music, starting with "My Own Grave". The band members have evidently reconciled, which is a beautiful thing to see after all the controversy. It would only be better if Lambesis and his ex-wife and children reconciled, which I pray happens one day. I pray for nothing but the best of this band, finding their music and listening to it after all the drama went down and still finding enjoyment in it and watching their documentary and reading up on the band, realizing they were all only human and were capable of making mistakes, (especially drugs), I pray that the members grow closer once again with one another and that Tim and Meggan may reconcile. In your name, Amen.
