Review: Aggelos - Silentium
- Artist: Aggelos
- Album: Silentium

- Track listing:
- "Higuera Seca"
- "Panis Vitae"
- "Noche Oscura"
- "Ergo Factum Silentium"
"Intro" starts very eerily. It's a long intro for an album. Near the end, the metal really shows.
"Higuera Seca" brings the genre of Doom metal to mind. If I'm correct Aggelos is female fronted. And these Vocals don't sound like your average "Cookie monster vocals". The lyrics are audible but with the language being in Spanish...
"Panis Vitae" has some beautiful Keyboards as an intro to the song. The vocals are the most interesting styles I've ever heard. The have Death metal vocals mixed with Horde-style Black/UnBlack Metal Vocals, mixed with A Cappella Vocals.
"Sententia" has a weird intro. Specifically because their speaking in a different language. I think they mix it up sometimes. They speak English and Spanish and switch it up! Anyways the song is very symphonic.
"Noche Oscura" sounds like the starting of Vengeance Rising's "I Love Hating Evil" except it's like that through most of the song, whilst Vengeance's is only a minute or so. The the Metal kicks in and by the end it switches back to the lush sound and then they mix lush sound with the metal!
"Ergo Factum Silentium" is very symphonic with their Keyboards and Bells (I kid you not). It almost sounds like a lullaby. With Death Metal Vocals. And Black Metal Vocals.
"Vivente" was the first song I heard from Aggelos. It has sort of a Pirate metal sound. I thoroughly enjoy the female vocals on here. The acoustic guitar doesn't hurt either. This band is seeming similar to Eluiveitie more by the minute. It's a pretty brutal song and it was a good choice for this song to be the single for the album.
"Silencio" has an acoustic intro and a spoken word with female "holy 'ohhs'" in the background. Then around a minute 45, the guitars come in. There are no drums or growls.
Overall: The music is great! I love the vocals just not the language they are delivered in. Once again, Rottweiler has another solid release!
Sounds Like: Doomsday Hymn, Death Requisite, Horde, 7 Horns 7 Eyes (early era), Eluiveitie
